HOKA created the Torrent as a lightweight trail racing shoe that still delivers the cushion and support HOKAs are famous for. Relative to many of their more robust models, the Torrent dials back the foam in the midsole to save weight and create a faster, more efficient ride. If you're looking for a cushier shoe to rotate into your workouts when your feet need a break, this is a great option. The updated version 2 for 2020 features re-worked lugs on the outsole to improve traction, and new uppers made from recycled waste plastic (which is pretty cool).
