John Muir Trail Retro Magnet

This magnet commemorates one of the most well-loved trails in the area, the John Muir Trail! Most people think that the JMT was created by John Muir, but in reality the trail is an indigenous route that has been used for thousands of years, known by the Paiutes as Nüümü Poyo (The People's Trail).

Nüümü Poyo runs for 211 miles (340 km) through the Sierras primarily within Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. It starts in Yosemite National Park near Mount Whitney and finishes on the summit of Mount Whitney, the highest point in the contiguous United States. The trail traverses alpine meadows, high mountain passes, and provides access to numerous lakes, rivers, and stunning vistas of the High Sierra peaks and valleys. Elevation: It reaches elevations over 14,000 feet and has an overall elevation gain of around 47,000 feet.
