This route comes recommended by our friend Carolyn, who generously provided the photos and GPS track.

Pat Keys Trail is an awesome out-and-back adventure into the wild heart of the Inyo mountain range. This is a difficult run that covers 11,500+ feet of vertical over ~6 miles to Pat Keys pass. Prime conditions are early spring or late Fall when the snow is melted off and temperatures are reasonable. There is no water available along this route, so plan your hydration accordingly.
