  • CAMP Corsa Ice Axe

The Corsa is the world’s lightest ice axe! This axe is the tool for mountain runners & fast packers to travel over early-season snowfields and mountain passes with safety and efficiency. Less than half the weight of a pair of lightweight CAMP XLC 490 aluminum crampons and with step chopping technique can eliminate the need to carry and use them. At higher elevations or for any mountain outings involving snow travel where weight is critical, the Corsa is an indispensable tool that feels weightless on the pack, but powerfully functional in the hand. Not recommended for ice/mixed climbing or extensive step chopping on ice or frozen neve, but can climb or chop steps in winter, spring, and early summer snow conditions with aplomb. Design works great for both self-belay and self-arrest. The ultimate Pacific Crest Trail or John Muir Trail thru-hiker axe! Meets all CE and UIAA specs for durability and strength.

    Technical Features:

    • Forged head made of 7075-T6 aluminum alloy
    • B-rated pick and shaft meet CE and UIAA requirements
    • Weight: 205g (7.2 oz)
    • Lengths: 50, 60, or 70cm
    • The shaft plug on 60 & 70cm models keeps snow out of the shaft
    • Optional leash available
